Symptoms
There is extraneous matter which is like white spots or floc, around fish’s skin, or fin.
Cause
The cause is the adhesion of Vorticella Nebulifera of Protozoa.
At the beginning of infection, there are white and viscous spots which is massive Vorticella Nebulifera gathering and adhering.
Vorticella Nebulifera adhere on fish body with long tail.
The point of tail is a bell-shaped body and work their cilia, which can catch the microbe in the water.
In this condition, their body leave from tail, swim in the water to parasitize another fish.
Epistylis has the symptoms similar with ulcer disease or rot tail disease along with the process of disease.
Countermeasure
Medicines containing pigment agents such as Methylene blue or malachite green will be effective.
