Ulcer disease
Symptoms
Skin ulcer or congestion.
You can see the congestion happen to a piece of scale, a small area at the beginning of disease.
However, the area of congestion spreads and the scales drop out, and then the dermis under the scales is exposure.
Then the dermis drops out, muscle is exposure.
It is called 「Ulcer disease」 because you can see the hole is opened.
Cause
The bacteria called Aeromonas, is one of the causes.
The bacteria prefer to active in comparatively low water temperatures, so the disease almost doesn’t happen to tropical fish.
Countermeasure
The treatment is to change the water about 1/2~1/3 and take a medical bath with appropriate medicine.
Saprolegnia happens to affected area and infect again easily, it is also effective to combine with the medicine which cure Saprolegnia.
Because the bacteria prefer to active in comparatively low water temperatures, In order to suppress body fluid which leaked from infected parts, adding saline solution which diluted to 0.3～0.5％ can alleviate the pain. (osmoregulation)
